Esi Wins Ghana’s Most Beautiful Season 9

There were loud cheers in the hall of the conference center last Saturday when Vera Oheneba Sarfoah, popularly known as Esi was declared winner of the just ended season nine of TV3’s Ghana’ Most Beautiful show. Her win makes it the second for the Central Region which won the first ever GMB when it was started nine years ago.

The 13-week beauty pageant which aimed at ‘redefining beauty to promote national unity’, saw four ladies at the finals to battle for the ultimate prize of a brand new car, GHC10,000, and a crown.

The four finalists were Esi representing the Central Region, Adjoa Afariwa Dawson from the Eastern Region; Maame Ayiwa Akosua Sika from the Ashanti Region and Melody Fafa Bossman from the Volta Region. They placed the first to fourth position in that order.

There conference was charged as music groups representing each of the contestants were there to back their contestant. And anytime the Central Region representative, Esi was mention, the audience applauded and cheered her. This made her the obvious winner, especially for her outstanding performance throughout the show.

The night’s tasks were; fashion show, talent show and intellectual hunt in which the ladies answered questions thrown to them by the judges.

Esi made an act on indiscipline as a canker which has eaten deep into the society, especially in the governmental sector. Through her short drama, she lamented how some Ghanaians do not respect time and refer to delay as “Ghanaman time”.

Sika, the first runner up, acted how mother’s make sacrifices to raise their children. She lauded women, especially single mothers who have to face all sorts of challenges to ensure that their children get the best in life.

Afariwa, the second runner up spoke on first and early marriage which is a barrier to the girl-child realizing her dreams and becoming a better person in future.

Fafa dramatized about child trafficking in which her mother willingly gave her out to a supposed friend who was to give her a good life in the city, but rather raped her.

For the prizes, Esi took home the brand new Changan SUV S35 2015 model; GHC 10,000 and the crown. She will also be supplied with GTP fabrics for a period of one year, 10,000 copies of customized exercise books from Sasso, plus other benefits.

Sika had GHC 8,000, six months supply of GTP fabrics, 10,000 customized exercise books from Sasso plus other benefits.

Afariwa won for herself GHC 6,000, 3 months supply of GTP fabrics, 10,000 branded exercise books from Sasso aside other benefits.

Fafa got GHC 5,000 cedis, 10,000 branded exercise books from Sasso, and others from sponsors of the show.
