Dancehall music in Ghana continue to grow from strength to strength with respect to the strident efforts by key stakeholders including musicians, record producers, sound engineers and listeners of the genre over the last couple of years.

This fact has been cemented particularly by the successes story of musicians in the music genre both locally and internationally.

Each year, some hardworking Ghanaian musicians rise from the ghettos to the world stage and this time it is no other than the energetic and lyrically genius reggae/dancehall artiste Bastero who is promptly making waves.

Known in private life as Basit Ibrahim he has already won the heart of many with some outstanding singles like 'She Ah Bad', 'Done Dem', 'Fyn Gyal', 'Mi Ah Baddest', 'Party Turn Up', 'Rambostyle', 'Inna Mi Party', 'Frenmies', Watayariya' and most recently 'Link Up' which featured young musician Larusso.

The "City Boss" as he is affectionately called began rapping and singing at a tender age of fifteen (15) and has through his exploits unleashed some mind-blowing performances which affirms that he is simply ready to erupt like volcano.

The Newtown-based musician is set to officially launch his maiden album as well as drop his first official music video and both are expected to be off the hook.

The FinishPoint Records act has graced numerous stages including the Stonebwoy's 'Necessary Evil' album launch as well as 'Go Higher Tour', and 2015 VVIP Sallahfest in Nima and ready to rock more bigger stages.

In August 2015 Pulse.com.gh acknowledged him as one of the budding Ghanaian talents who have done great job in the first half of the year.

According to Bastero, he is ready to give the industry nothing but the best reggae/dancehall music and there is no turning back.

"It's been a long time coming, I'm primed for the Ghana music industry and just can't wait to do my best to help the industry grow even better," he mentioned.

He has since urged upcoming musicians to remain focus on what they are doing because the hard work will definitely pay off.
