A Letter To Our Papa!-His Excellency John Mahama

Dear Mr.President,
Exhilarant regards from your subordinate patriots. Sir, we recall that fateful day you sat on the most prestigious seat as you swore the oath of the presidency. It continues to flash back in our mind, from time to time how poised you were to kickstart your long awaited wish:being the president of the country to build a perceived better Ghana.

Mr.President our democratic dispensation allows freedom of speech and I strongly believe you are one strong proponent of dissention.

Your avidity as an exponent of freedom of speech as enshrined in the constitution of Ghana greatly needs commendation, debatable though.

To the main issue Mr.President, I shudder to think you are epileptic of the issue currently in the airwaves:unaware I mean sir, of the ongoing call by the people of Ghana for a change in the existing voters' register.

Our father this is a call of great necessity.Don't you think proponents for a change of register need a resounding and room-cracking applause.I'm fully convinced you are joyously nodding in agreement to our humble plea.May God bless you for that.

Sir, your borders ooo, our borders, need serious attention. The Npps' findings have brought to bare influx of pictures and names of foreigners into the existing register. The register changes our identity to WESGHANA:West African States of Ghana.

We are of the fullest conviction that you prefer our own Ghana to WESGHANA.With this, we with all humility call for your utter indulgence in the change of that register which was used for the immediate past Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

We are aware of the hardship we and our children are "enjoying" but sir this joy if care is not taken, will elude us especially we the vulnerable civilians as urine has eluded the land bird:cock. We envisage such happening if the proper thing:change of the existing voters' register is not effected. We prayerfully wish the opposite for the nation.

As our dear president we are fully aware you wouldn't wish such unfortunate occurence for our dear nation.

Regardless of the cost for the change we never think it would be greater than any untoward happening after the election.

Come to think of this; loss of lives, amputation, loss of the few industries left due to your "dumsor", Sir I humbly ask if you get a clear picture of such gory incidents visiting the denizens while perhaps your family and cronies will be merrying in Dubai and other European countries.Ei! So there will be no Ghana.I'm scared! We know you would not desire to have your name written in history for that.

The woes of women and children would be heightened.Fear would have us in its grips and every activity towards the development of the nation would stall.Happenings in Sierra Leone and other war countries would visit us making our lives miserable. We fervently pray against occurrences like these but if the proper step, which happens to be a change in the register is neglected we fear it may occur.

The fate of the lives of women and children is in a limbo now. Please act now Mr.President.

Thanks for accepting to side with us.We shall write to you again thanking and hurling praises on you for your understanding.May God bless you our President!

Yours faithfully,
.....signed....
