AMAA Goes To South Africa

This year's main event for the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) will be held in South Africa for the first time, 10 years after the ceremony has brought African filmmakers to converge in Nigeria, where it used to be hosted.

Organisers announced that the 11^th edition of the AMAAs, 'will be having a mind-blowing experience in the city of Port Elizabeth, South Africa,' where the 'kings and queens' of African movie industry will be converging for some amazing moments.

For the past 11 years, the AMAA has been instrumental in showcasing Africa's growing creative industry and portraying African story as narrated by Africans.

It celebrated the growth of the motion picture industry in Africa and the talents and achievements of the individuals that propel the industry to its present enviable height.

In the coming years, the award ceremony is expected to further enliven standards in the movie industry.

 The award ceremony is the most recognized movie event on the African continent.

Its nomination party had traveled to various parts of the continent including Ghana, Malawi and others.  This year's was held in the USA while South Africa hosted the nominations party for last year.

The main award would take place on September 26 on South African soil.
