Last Friday's Mirror Ball at Soho witnessed an influx of celebrities, mainly sports personalities and film stars, as they touched down in Ghana to honour a worthy son of the land – Capo Stephen Appiah – who also happens to be a longstanding Mirror Ball patron.

Aston Martins roared while Bentley and Rolls Royce rims shimmered in the parking lot of the Marina Mall at Airport City.

Some guests clearly arrived straight from the airport, pulling their travel bags up to the elevator for a ride upstairs into the land of nostalgic bliss.

Every last Friday of the month, the SOHO restaurant and Bar plays host to the nation's avante guarde who set the trends and pace of quality entertainment in the capital city.

Their patronage continues to define and distinguish the Mirror Ball as Ghana's premium event for the old school.

Mumm champagne, the main sponsor, provided a most pleasant and refreshing chilled flute of their premium world class bubbly to compliment the red carpet entry for early birds and the sound acumen of the Grand Master DJ Blow was on full display as he kept the dance floor active well into Saturday morning with a little bit of this and a little bit of that, sourced from the playlist of the planet's greatest hits.

The Freestyle Friday is always well attended as guests chart their own course in fashion and they danced the night away as if to send a clear message to the month of June that despite its trials, they were proud to cross the finish line and were ready to face on July with renewed energy and vigour.

The next event which is 'Polo Play' will be held on July 31st.
