Patrons of the 2015 Joy FM Bridal Fair paid no attention to the state of the economy.

The steady stream of the numbers emphasized not only the fact that wedding is an inelastic demand but that once again Joy FM’s muscle in growing brands, business and brides is still unmatched.

All the familiar businesses and brands in the wedding and marriage industry who were here last year were again here this year. But they would have easily noticed that more companies are joining the showcase of everything you need for your special day.

About 104 exhibitors are here on the opening day of the fair which will run through till Saturday.

If you had nothing but the wherewithal, you could buy or rent an apartment, furnish it, stock your fridge, fit in a bed and dress up as a groom or bride, rent a car, buy a cake, get your reception organised within 4 hours of touring the Accra International Conference Center.

The Joy FM Bridal Fair is to a would-be bride what an ATM is to all of us – convenience.

Absolute convenience. If the fair failed to come on every June, Ghanaians will still show up at the center in disbelief.

And so for the 15 times in a row, the exciting ritual showed no sign of losing appeal.

The vocal strength of the ‘amen’ in response to Rev. Samuel Kisseadoo’s opening prayer request for more marriages showed why weddings matter.
