Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku Adodoaji, has won the award for 'Best Actress in Supporting Role' at the maiden Golden Movie Awards ceremony held in Accra on Saturday June 27, 2015.

She won the award for her role, Kabuki, played in Lydia Forson's first self-produced movie, A Letter from Adam .

The movie is a romantic drama set in the city of Accra and seeks to give the audience an often neglected truth about love.

The movie that lures the audience into a realistic cycle of life seen through the pain of loss; the journey of self-discovery; and the courage and strength to find hope in the face of adversity, the movie starts with a silhouette and conveys its message in a zigzagged plot.

Naa Ashokor’s role is that of a prim and proper best friend of crazy Anima (played by Lydia Forson herself) and according to her, she enjoyed “every bit” of it.

In an interview ahead of the movie's premiere in Accra, she said the first time she read the script, she knew her role sounded so much like her, except Kabuki was 'crazier' than she is in real life.

'Kabuki was someone kind of like me, so when I read the script, I actually saw myself playing the role pretty easily. It was a bit challenging acting myself. I never had to do that, so it was quite confusing when I didn't really have to get into character, but then also say things that I ordinarily wouldn't say. Because I felt I was the character except that this particular one was a bit naughtier.'
