24.05.2015 LISTEN

Ahead of the 2015 Ayeyi Kese which will be held at the Top Auditorium in Sunyani on the 31st of May, Minister Francis Amo in an exclusive interview with the News Hunter Daily Magazine disclosed that he doesn't personally compete for awards.

The Ghanaian Song Writer, Composer, Performer and Worship Leader said, "I don't see hiplife or other musicians selling songs as compare to Gospel Musicians, we do promotions, launching and other things, but for me personally, I don't fight for awards, God's reward is greater than something which is awarded by human being."

Francis Amo Ayuobi who hails from Ogua, Cape Coast said he has been into the ministering industry for 15 years now.

"I have been singing for 15 years non-stop, my church Pastor gave me the opportunity to sing at church when our praises leader wasn't around, I was a drummer but on that faithful day, I sung and played the drums at the same time of which i delivered."

"I have backed a lot of musicians; No Tribe, Andy Frimpong Manso, Cindy Thompson, Ohemaa Mercy, Grace Ashley, Gifty Osei, DSP Kofi Sarpong, and also collaborated with Sonnie Badu, Next Generation Ministries, etc."

According to him, He has faced a lot of challenges in the 15 years journey but always he doesn't complain but rather make sure to serve God always.

On How He Sees the Gospel Industry in Ghana
"It's very nice but before that let me appreciate my Mummies, Daughters of Glorious Jesus who i worked for some years, they mentored me and i thank them for their advice. I can see the Gospel Music in Ghana is progressing and that tells you we are moving forward."

Currently Minister Francis Amo is working on his second album 'Ngooba'.

Why do Gospel Musicians Charge for performing at programs; Ain't you doing the work of God?

"All this things started because of experience, you can go anywhere to sing but for lack of experience you won't earn anything. What made me started to charge was that, I went to do a one week program for a pastor, of which I spent five days at a hotel and later on, I have to pay it myself. can you imagine that? That's not fair because he made money from the work that i did. This is the work that we have been called to do and we have to benefit from it. Even the bible says every hard worker needs to enjoy from the fruit of his work. We also have families to take care of by the end of the day."
