The prolific singer, who joined the gospel music industry in 2004 and a teacher by profession, told Adom FM's Entertainment Hall, hosted by Mike 2, that she was on leave from the teaching service since it would be difficult to combine both teaching and singing.

According to the enterprising gospel star, teaching remains a passion but she has been blessed with a talent for music and singing which she claimed inspire people to get closer to God.

The gospel artiste, with over ten years' experience in the music industry, and has five albums to her credit, is working tirelessly on her new album to be released soon.

This album won Ohemaa 10 nominations for the 2008 Ghana Music Awards. It was the highest number of nominations so far in respect of a single album in the history of the Awards Scheme. She won three of the major trophies.

Ohemaa Mercy in November 2009, released a massive hit album entitled, 'Wobeye Kese' which won the heart of many across African the continent and the world at large.
