There is no doubt that there exist a heated beef between top notch broadcaster Anita Erskine and former face of Viasat1's The One Show, Joselyn Dumas.

Arguably, it could be said that both broadcasters have had a roller coaster relationship but could not settle their differences, hence the current ill-rapport existing between them.

It was reported on Saturday, February 14, 2015, on bigtriceonline.blogspot.com that Anita revealed in an interview with Ytainment that her relationship with Joselyn never went the extra mile apart from work.

"Joselyn and I have a very good working relationship but we were not best friends and we were not the kind of people who will call each other on the weekends. We have never been. She has never been my best friend and I have never been her best friend.”

Analyzing Anita Erskine’s submissions, it is arguably evident Joselyn might have somehow out gone her boundaries and interfered in the responsibilities of production in the process of exercising her duties as a hostess.

It does happen especially when the presenter feels he or she is the main icon of a broadcaster’s programme and gets them swollen headed.

Sometimes when the presenter of a programme takes all the credits and does not acknowledge the work of the producer it does hurt and it can also create an extensive gap between the two.

Know that the producer is always the head and the presenter’s call to duty is to follow his lead.

When something goes wrong on air, the producer is queried by his programmes manager and the presenter, the producer.

Producers do all the work from drafting of programme synopsis to booking personalities for interview and call ups for panel members, leaving the presenter to do very little on air but the nature of the work leaves the presenter taking all the credits.

Responsibility is therefore bestowed upon the unselfish presenter to acknowledge the works of his able producer which if hadn’t been done could have had a drastic effect on the show.

During live broadcasts, the producer also acts as a director signposting which angle to be tackled by the presenter – this is more evident in radio broadcast than television.

When the presenter or host of a show know his responsibilities and acknowledge his show producer to be his head, he follows his lead and the show runs smoothly because both parties know their duties and respect each other for their role.
