The organisers of the 'Ghana Meets Naija' musical concert have announced that the fifth edition of Ghana's biggest musical concert will take place on May 23 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) in Accra.

The 'Ghana Meets Naija' concert is largely regarded by many music lovers as a musical showdown of sorts to establish supremacy between two countries whose musical trends have continuously influenced and rivalled each other in every way.

The organisers have, however, consistently maintained that the concert is aimed at celebrating what the two countries have in common as neighbouring countries, and not a battle for musical supremacy.

This year's event would bring together the best of Ghana and Nigeria's music industries to entertain music fans.

Following a sponsorship deal with Tigo, this year's event has been branded as 'Tigo Ghana Meets Naija' and it is under the theme: 'Unleashing Unlimited Music'.

Speaking at the media launch in Accra, the General Manager of Empire Group of Companies, Ms Laillah Crystal Banda, stressed that this year would be even more spectacular and would give music fans the best of entertainment.

The Head of Marketing for Tigo Ghana, Jesse Agyepong, said, 'Our association with this event is in line with our commitment to support the music and entertainment industry in Ghana. It is also to create platforms for local musicians to showcase their talent.'

Over the years, 'Ghana Meets Naija' has been known as the platform for the biggest artistes in both Ghana and Nigeria to share one stage and thrill music lovers from both countries.

This year's event is also supported by UniBank, Hennessy, Flight Centre, Oak Plaza Hotel, Africa World Airlines, Best Western Hotel, Enovate and Euro Star Limousines.
