Editor-in-Chief of the Crusading Guide newspaper says ace entertainment personality and discharged rape suspect must learn to control his libido to save a brand he took years to build.

In a rather cunning way, Kweku Baako Jnr said Kwasi Kyei Darkwa popularly called KKD "must seek strenuously to tame the animal in him."

"We all have animals in us. If you don't contain it, it can escape and create irreparable damage to you," he advised.

He made the comment on Joy FM's news analysis programme Newsfile, Saturday.

KKD was discharged Thursday by an Accra High Court after the Attorney General filed a Nolle Prosequoi in a case of rape brought against him.

A 19-year-old girl accused the ace broadcaster and entertainment mogul of raping her in December last year at the plush African Regent Hotel.

KKD admitted having sex with the woman but denied it was rape. He stated that the woman consented to act.

Shortly after the case was sent to court, the accuser wrote to the judge saying she was no longer interested in going ahead with the case.

She said she will not cooperate with the prosecution if it went ahead with the case.

In a case of one good turn deserving another, KKD also wrote a letter apologising to the 'victim' and blamed the sexual act on "fleeting pleasures of the flesh."

Despite the paramount witness' lack of interest in the case, the Attorney General vowed to continue with the prosecution only to file a Nolle Prosequoi, months after.

The Judge had no option but to discharge the witness.

Discussing the matter on Newsfile, Kweku Baako Jnr said given the huge brand built by KKD he should learn to control his libido or have his brand completely damaged.

Deputy Interior Minister, James Agalga criticised the victim for withdrawing the case from court.

He said the crime committed was not necessarily against the victim alone but against the state and she ought to have exhausted the process.

He said the victim could not have blamed the media for her trauma because she ought to have known that the personality she accused was one who would naturally generate media interest.

He added her decision to pull out affected the prosecution's case and the Attorney General had no choice but to withdraw.
