Young actor Emmanuel Darko, known as Cartoon in popular TV series Afia Schwarzenegger, was on Monday prevent from writing one of his papers in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Emmanuel was one of eight final year students of St John's Grammar Senior High School in Accra who were prevented from writing the paper Monday.

The students were prevented from writing their Christian Religious Studies paper by school authorities because they showed up at the exam centre in bushy hair.

Young Darko, together with his mate, was filled with anger and disappointment over the school authorities’ decision but said they had no choice than to resit the paper next year.

The actor and his colleagues speaking to Joy News alleged that there were other students who wore artificial nails and eye-lashes but were allowed to write the paper.

Cartoon said the action by the school authorities is a deliberate attempt to truncate his education. He alleged that, one particular teacher in the school has always been at war with him since he stepped foot in the school.

Emmanuel Darko came to fame when he appeared on Talented Kids, a children-oriented reality show produced by TV3 Network some years ago.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed authorities to prepare the students to write the paper in the upcoming November/December edition of the WASSCE.

According to the GES, as reported by the Daily Graphic, the school should prepare the students for the examination at its own cost.
