Miss Tourism Ghana 2014 second runner up, known as 'second Princess', Afua Asantewaa Ofosu, has launched her social impact and charity project under the theme, 'Don't touch Me', in Accra.

The project primarily seeks to empower women and encourage healthy living and hygiene. the launch drew colleagues of the pretty Princess, who embarked on a three-hour tour of the capital city. the city tour saw the beauty queens distribute beautifully designed customised aprons, hats and weber stainless steel to a section of Ghanaians, especially roasted plantain mongers.

The distribution was done around Darkuman and its entire stretch, Abeka Lapaz, Nii Boye town lorry station and other suburbs of accra.

In a post tour interview, the brain behind the project, asantewaa, told the media that 'It dawned on me to support and empower women in the country; hence this project.

'We at Miss tourism Ghana consider sanitation and healthy living as the tools to promote development and domestic tourism. I majored in Food tourism, so I thought it prudent to support these young ladies by kitting them and donating the tools to them. 'the joy on the faces of all the women we visited… speaks volumes.

One, they have been rescued from the direct heat when turning the plantain; two, they looked presentable and that will certainly draw more customers, meaning it will help promote their respective businesses.

'This will not be a nine-day wonder; I'm considering reaching out to other parts of the city as well as extending it to the other regions.'

The project was powered by Miss Tourism Ghana 2014 and sponsored by Mama Vits Investments and Kenpong Group of Companies
