Tales Of Ananse Wrap Up

Tales Of Ananse Wrap Up
23.03.2015 LISTEN

'Tales of Ananse' a story telling project that Wilmar Africa embarked on has wrapped up. Wilmar Africa is the leading brand and producer of Ghana's favourite cooking oil, Frytol.

The project which is geared at re introducing story telling begun March 3, saw 12 communities in the Capital gathered around fire to hear stories of Ananse from Mr. Joslyn Dzidzienyo Woanyah, Drector of Afrique Dance Ensemble.

The rationale behind the project is to make the 'dumsor' crisis less stressful for children and communities at large.

Margaretta Allotey, Account Manager at Sixth Sense Manifesto, for the Ananse Project who worked on the project, noted that 'Tales of Ananse' was well received by the various communities visited.

She was positive that the project has reawakened the olden day's practice of storytelling at night.

These communities were treated to stories during the project, Osu Alata, North Labone, Odorkor, Darkuman, New Fadama and Zabramaline.

The rest are Avenor, KorleGonno, New Mamprobi, Alajo, TeshieNungua Estate and Tema New Market.
