Grammy award-winning jazz music icon, Earl Klugh, became the toast of hundreds of Ghanaian jazz music fans over the weekend when he put up a splendid performance at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

Earl Klugh and his band staged a brilliant performance, proving that when it comes to jazz music, one must work hard to earn the respect and all accolades that come with it.

His stagecraft and creative performance on stage that night earned him the credential as one of the most thrilling jazz musicians in the world.

He lived up to expectation and the fans also fulfilled their side of the bargain by thoroughly enjoying every bit of the show.

The event also attracted a host of corporate executives and jazz music lovers like former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ken Ashigbey, Fred Amugi, Professor Kofi Anyidoho, among others.

The two-day event also featured other renowned Ghanaian jazz artistes like Ebo Taylor, Ackah Blay and Bernard Ayisa-Victor Dey Quintet, supported by the Jasper Band, Big Wellington Trio, Kyekyeku and Stanbic Rhythms.

Earl Klugh has released dozens of albums; 24 of which have been on Billboard's top-10 list of jazz albums.

His works have received 13 Grammy nominations and his collaboration with pianist Bob James, One on One, won the 1980 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album.

As a composer and songwriter, Klugh's credit appears on a wide range of recordings from artistes such as Aretha Franklin, Jamie Foxx, Roberta Flack, Mary J. Blige, Kenny Loggins, Al Jarreau and many others.
