JAN 26, 2015 LISTEN

Lil Wayne has been outspoken about his dissatisfaction with Birdman and Cash Money, calling himself a "prisoner" when the label refused to release his new album Tha Carter V.

Now, it appears that negotiations between the two parties have fallen apart.

TMZ reports that Wayne will ask a judge to declare him free from Cash Money, arguing that the label violated his contract by withholding the album's release.

Wayne is also reportedly planning to sue Birdman for his promised $8 million Tha Carter V advance.

Birdman has reportedly promised that Tha Carter V will be released "in due time".

Wayne just released Sorry 4 the Wait 2 as an apology for the album's delay.

On the opening track, his remix of O.T. Genasis' "CoCo", he directly addressed Birdman and the label:

“Cash Money is an army, I'm a one-man army
And if them ni**as comin' for me, I'm goin' out like Tony

Now I don't want problems, I just want my money
Ain't gotta hold no conversation or my luggage
Tell whoever's countin' that I'm on a hundred
Birdman Jr., more like Ugly Duckling
