A collaborative project by spoken word and graffiti artists from Ghana and Togo interspersed with jazz by Blood Drum Spirit Ensemble, which has played in many countries, will on Wednesday, January 28 take place at the Alliance Française in Accra.
Directed by Kwame Write, the show, which forms part of the January edition of La Paillote Takpekpe, seeks to explore the spirit of togetherness and approach to environmentalism.
Dubbed 'The Write Experience', the performance is a package of seamless stirring poetry and graffiti aside an intimate jazz trio thrill by saxophonist and composer, David Bindman, percussionist and pianist Royal Hartigan and bassist Wes Brown.
They have performed, given workshops, and recorded throughout Asia, Africa, Europe, West Asia and in America in a bigger renowned group called the Blood Drum Spirit Ensemble.
Produced by Inkfluent and powered by Alliance Française, the evening will also have a live reggae by Ras Bomba, a former Artist-in-Residence at Vienna's Kunsthalle Exnergasse and artist Attukwei Clottey, who will showcase engaging plastic art installations.
