The Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Eric Opoku, has called on both the public and private entities to invest in the Culture and Creative Arts industries.

He said investment at this sector will immensely improve on generation of the cultural capital that provides the creative industries with the requisite knowledge, inspiration, business and economic opportunities to facilitate transformation of the economy.

Hon. Eric Opoku announced this at the 2014 National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFAC) in Sunyani, capital of the Brong Ahafo Region, which was under the theme: 'The Creative Arts Industry and Tourism: A platform for National Development'.

According to Hon. Eric Opoku, Culture plays an essential role which unify Ghanaians as one people with one destiny, in spite of diversity in language and social behaviours across the ten (10) Regions of the

country.
"Festival is, therefore, geared towards the deepening of the cultural basis of our development as a nation."

He added that, "the occasion provides a platform for us, as a nation, to assess our culture to further our development agenda and that will enable us look into the future with hope."

Hon. Eric Opoku further stated that, it is important for the nation to recognize that most developed economies have embraced the creative arts and cultural industry as an integral part of their economies as the industry has emerged as one of the most rapidly growing sectors.
