This Morning Receives Award For Outstanding Morning TV Show
13.10.2014 LISTEN

Viasat-1 morning show 'This Morning' has been adjudged the most outstanding morning television show in Ghana at the maiden annual Television Awards Ghana – Primetime event. This Morning, which premiered in August 2012, has become a household name and part of the daily routine of our cherished viewers.

The daily themes of This Morning and the chemistry between the two hosts, Patrice Amegashie and Kokui Selormey, makes the show stand out among other breakfast shows on other channels. Unlike the usual overly-politicized issues discussed on morning shows, This Morning takes a softer touch to the political headlines, placing more focus on the social, health, domestic and entertainment issues. The show is uniquely designed to help viewers start the day on a very relaxed, yet educative and entertaining mood; and it is hosted by two experienced broadcasters with great reputation in the industry.

Two other programmes on Viasat1 were also awarded: Emefa Adeti for Outstanding Female Actress in Comedy Series (Office Palava) and Gloria O. Sarfo for Outstanding Female Actress in Drama Series (Living with Trisha). This brings to a total of thirteen (13) awards received by Viasat1 from both the TAG and RTP Awards so far this year.

CEO of Viasat1, Maame Ama Asare-Konadu, says:
It is simply delightful that This Morning received the award as the most outstanding morning TV show in the industry. This crowns a year of dedicated hard work from our hosts as well as the programming, production and technical teams. A recognition like this bolsters us to new heights in terms of re-investing in our passion to produce and telecast only the best content for our cherished viewers.

Meanwhile, Viasat1 is unveiling a list of programmes this month, and leading the pack is a Turkish drama series, Ezel. With the storyline centred on revenge, the award-winning series promises to captivate viewers with a mix of crime, passion, history, intrigue and controversy. It airs at 8pm from Monday to Thursday on Viasat1. Also making a debut is The Dzigbordi Show which airs this and every Thursdays at 4pm.

It is an inspirational and informative oriented lifestyle show that tackles delicate social issues affecting mostly women. Fans of Nollywood star Omotola Jalade Ekeinde can also now get up-close and personal as they watch how the actress lives her life off the screen. Omotola: The Real Me airs on Viasat1 every Thursday at 9pm. Viewers should also watch out for brand new seasons of CSI and NCIS: Los Angeles.
