Viasat 1 Rebrands The One Show; Premieres October 6

Viasat 1, Your Number 1 Entertainer, is kicking its premier talk-show programme The One Show up a notch in season 8 starting Monday October 6, 2014 at 5 p.m. Ahead of the new season, Viasat1 announced Anita Erskine as the new face & host of The One Show.

The One Show has enjoyed massive viewership since premiering in 2009, now arguably the most widely recognized entertainment talk show in Ghana, has been refreshed with a new logo and a brand new set as it takes a new direction.

The One show has been re-positioned to not only primarily target women and the family but to also present an emotive, lively and lifestyle content to viewers. This season will feature illuminating topics, prominent issues impacting society and knowledgeable guests to discuss and educate viewers. Our audience will be feted on an array of social issues, current affairs, fashion and beauty. The live in-show interactivity elements and social media has also been enhanced to enable the show reach out and effectively engage with its audience.

The LIVE talk show still maintains its one-hour duration and will air from Monday to Thursday. New exciting segments have been introduced into the format, including 'The Real Talk.' This segment deals with light topics that are taken from a woman's perspective. For example: Is it okay to have sex on a first date? Anita also engages a protagonist who has a personal experience and is willing to share in 'The Discussion' segment. Experts, counselors, psychologists and social commentators in the subject area will be invited to aid the discussion.

Viasat1 is a free-to-air TV channel and began transmission in 2008. The One Show was the channel's first in-house production and has since introduced other top-notch programmes including This Morning, A Day In the Life, Take It to The Streets and Boys Boys.

The One Show season 8 premieres Monday, October 6, 2014 at exactly 5 p.m. with a new but familiar host Anita Erskine. Anita comes to the show with a vast range of television and media broadcast experience, having previously hosted and produced some of the top TV shows in Ghana and Africa. The bi-lingual Anita Erskine in the past hosted pan-African TV show, Studio 53. She also hosted “Making Of A Mogul”, “Cooking With….” and “Pamper Your Mum” – three popular shows on the DSTV platform, championing the “Best Of Africa” brand. She just recently co-hosted Viasat1 flagship morning show, This Morning as sit-in host for Kokui Selormey who went on maternity leave. The One Show airs from Monday to Thursday on Viasat1, Your Number 1 Entertainer.
