Castro saga: Asamoah Gyan to speak Wednesday
23.09.2014 LISTEN

Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan, together with his family will hold a press conference on Wednesday, September 23 to address questions of the disappearance of hiplife artiste, Theophilus Tagoe, popularly known as Castro.

The press conference, according to a statement, has been necessitated by recent developments and public interest on the matter.

All hopes seem to be lost after rescue operations by the police for Castro and his female companion, Janet Bandu, who went missing in July while jet skiing in the waters of Ada, came to an end without success.

Castro and Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan were at the Peace Holiday Resort, a beach resort in Ada, together with some friends, for recreation when the unfortunate incident occurred.

The family press conference which will take place at the Alisa Hotel will be addressed by counsel for the family, Kissi Agyabeng.

The statement said: “It will be recalled that Theophilus Tagoe (aka Castro) and Janet Bandu went missing while on a holiday hangout with Family and Friends of the Gyans at a resort in Ada back in July. Relentless efforts are still being made to find the missing duo.”

“The press conference will, therefore, seek to update the public through the media on the status of investigations so far. The opportunity will also be used to officially respond to some allegations and untruths bundled about in the media over the role of Asamoah Gyan in the duo's disappearance,” the statement added.

The Gyan Family said the press briefing will also touch on the recent court case involving the Ashanti Regional editor of Graphic Communications Group Daniel Kenu who was reportedly assaulted by Baffour Gyan and Samuel Anim Addo.
