Ace Ghanaian Playwright, Speaker and Director Uncle Ebo has classified his latest play “Unforgiven” as a peep into the life of his Roverman Production House.

“We had said that for our Sixth anniversary, we were going to give Ghanaians a peep into our world and “unforgiven” is just that. All that you saw was a typical representation of what happens on a typical audition and production day at Roverman-this time the joke is on us,” he stated.

This admission was made at last Thursday's special premiering of the play where a cross-section of audiences interviewed by this paper commented that the play seemed to have been couched out of the happenings at the Production House.

The premiering was graced by several dignitaries including the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare. The Minister described the play as full of humour yet very educative and commended Uncle Ebo for his great taste and knack for perfection.

The premiering was also used to launch season three of the Airtel Touching Lives show, a hit TV series aimed at giving individuals and communities a better life. Airtel has remained the main partners of Roverman Productions for their 2014 quarterly plays.

Unforgiven, the 24th play from Roverman describes the life of a beautiful talented young lady married to a drunk who regards her as useless and good for nothing. With time the young lady auditioned for a role in a play, a dream she has nurtured all her life, but had to face her husband's demeaning remarks and a secret she has been keeping for the past 16 years. The cat was finally let out of the basket on the eve of production, causing her the life of her daughter and the production.

As usual the story is told with a lot of twist and turns and the constant humour that characterizes the playwright's works. The play will continue showing at the National Theatre this weekend at 5 and 8pm on September 6 and 7 at a cool GH¢ 50.
