Popular Ghanaian reggae star, Blakk Rasta is set to perform live at the West Indian American Day festival in Brooklyn, New York, USA.

The 29th August performance by Blakk Rasta is set to go down in history as the first by an African musician. The show has never featured an African artiste for the 47 years it has been in existence.

Natasha Andrews, in charge of media relations for the festival said, in a report that, a lot is expected from Blakk Rasta.

She recalled that, the legendary Bob Marley played at this festival which is part of the 'Labour Day' celebrations with an annual crowd attendance of five million.

This year, artistes like Mighty Sparrow, Marshal Montano, Tarrus Riley, Skinny Banton and others will be playing alongside the Moonsplash legend.

In a short video posted on his website www.blakkrasta.com, Blakk Rasta said "I want to see every African and even, non-Africans there."

So far, his mysterious hit song, 'Zantan Bua' - the Goat Dance - is mesmerising audiences all over the world. He has been booked for several other festivals across the globe.

Blakk Rasta has distinguished himself as a fine artiste who churns out songs with a pan-African flair and energy.
