KumaWood Produces World Class Movie, ‘Made In Agege’

In GHANA, the two well recognized movie industries are the glamour – where English is mostly used and Kumawood – the Twi movie industry. While the former is praised for consistent production of good movies even though some are not worth appraisal, the later has on many occasions been pilloried for proffering substandard movies. For an industry which releases not less than ten movies in a week, what more do you expect apart from poor, inferior, second-rate, shoddy and amateurish movies – the case of Kumawood movie industry.

Let me state at this split second that, not all movies from the Kumawood industry are not up to scratch but a great number of them. For such an industry where quantity is chosen over quality, it is not surprising that few or none of the movies or actors are nominated for international movie awards like the Oscars, Africa Movie Academy Awards, Cannes film Festival, Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA), MTV Movie Awards, Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) and others.

For some time now, entertainment pundits, journalists, bloggers, movie producers and stakeholders have called on Kumawood movie producers to at least improve on their performance – picture quality, story line, subtitle, casts and others and it seems some producers have heed to the advise.

So now after the castigating and criticisms, Kumawood has produced a world class movie, 'Made In Agege'. From A-FX Multimedia, 'Made In Agege' is well written story set in the 80's. The movie which trailer went viral few days ago has received innumerable applauds for the level of professionalism exhibited in its production.

Judging from the story line, casts, costume, picture quality, errorless and unerring subtitling and other factors, 'Made In Agege', the movie directed by Kenneth Yeboah aka Ahenfo) is a world class movie.

An insider who spoke to Zionfelix.com about the release of the movie revealed that, 'Made In Agege' will defile the wonted way of releasing Kumawood movies and be premiered like a World Class Movie but the date of premiere and release of the movie was not disclosed.
