This year's Easter celebration at Kwahu witnessed a series of activities to entertain Kwahu citizens and other visitors.

The Kwahu Easter festive occasion has become imprinted in the country's annual entertainment calendar, and what makes it so enjoyable and memorable is the entertainment, food, music, dancing, among many others.

The Kwahu Easter is highly cherished and observed by the people of the area, both home and abroad, and serves as a point of family reunion.

This year's celebration was expected to rise above the previous ones and it did, exceeding expectations despite the few challenges which included heavy downpour that led to a late start of some of the events.

Patrons of the Kwahu Easter festivities on Friday, April 18 were welcomed to the mountains with Akwaaba bash organised by the Accra-based Adom Fm at Eastern Palace at Atibie.

Kwahu citizens who attended the Akwaaba bash danced to good music and enjoyed great performances from some artistes like K.K Fosu, Daasebre Dwamena, Kofi B and the Perfect Band.

On Saturday, April 19, there was a street jam dubbed 'Obomeng Street Jam' which brought movements to a halt as the crowd did everything possible to catch a glimpse of the great performances by the hiplife artistes; some climbed trees as others made do with the tall buildings around the venue.

The Obomeng Township was packed with music fans from Mpraeso, Atibie, Obo and surrounding towns who danced their hearts out to music from some of the country's finest artistes. It was a pleasant sight to behold as people were seen dancing and hugging old friends they have lost contact with for years.

The atmosphere on Saturday night was charged as various artistes such as Stone Bwoy, Guru, Pop Skinny, Castro, Nhyiraba Kojo and a host of others, mounted the stage one after the other to thrill fans with their various hit songs.

It was Stone Bwoy's night, but Castro who was also on the bill, captivated the audience as well. Being one of Ghana's youngest enterprising dancehall artistes, Stone Bwoy, surprised his fans with his fast-tempo dance hall songs and amazing stage presence.

Other acticvities held to mark the Easter celebration included a free health screening, blood donation exercises, intercommunity gala matches, gospel rock shows, Adom concert party and the paragliding tour and many others.

There was heavy security presence in Kwahu, as police officers were seen at various vantage points, either directing traffic or parading the streets with the view to maintaining law and order.
