Agya Koo Must Stop The Move To Ridicule His Former Wife Publicly
01.04.2014 LISTEN

After reading the a story of Ghanaian actor and comedian Kofi Adu alias Agya Koo on March 31, via nydjlive.com on vibe online, I felt bad and worried. Agya Koo seems to be hitting back at his wife after their abortive marriage.

I asked myself why some celebrities in soccer and entertainment fields are having bad press these days through failed marriages. I don't know what caused the conflict between him and his ex wife leading to separation between them. But I don't know why the leading Ghanaian actor would stoop so low as to launch an attack on his former wife to the extent of discrediting her in public. In that article he is quoted to have launched an attack mocking at her for living a deplorable life selling goods at Kasoa near Accra.

He went on to say that when they were together she was riding high moving around in a car he provided to her. The story was aired in an interview with Charles Asare on the Angel Entertainment Show in which he alleged that his wife has fallen off him and joined others such as producers to work against him.

This move is against Agya Koo's culture and traditions as an Akan and a Christian who would preserve the sanctity of their wives even when they are no more together. Considering his stature in the film and entertainment industry he is expected to be tolerant and strong in the face of any provocation. He is expected to keep all that he knows about her to himself. As other men would do he should portray her in good light and continue to be in good terms with her.

He is advised to act on this advice and allow his advisors to do something more about this situation. This is because Agya Koo as an international icon means a lot to us all in Ghana and Africa. Even if he has no children with his wife she has relatives from whom he asked her hand in marriage.

They would feel bad when he portrays her in bad light. Moreover her role as a trader is not bad. He must back her for doing something meaningful to eke out a living. To mock at her for selling on the shoulders of Kasoa market is not fair to her and her colleague market women some of whom are house wives.

What he should know is that whatever the relations between him and his wife he would be seen as a former husband and would be closely linked to her for life. Whatever she has done leading to the current bad blood between him and her Agya Koo must reconsider his moves against his former wife in order to preserve his reputation and good name for himself being a national star.
