Press Release Dumor And Allied Families Express Appreciation To All Sympathisers
MAR 3, 2014 LISTEN

The Dumor and Allied Families deeply appreciate the support that we have received from all since the passing of our beloved Komla.

We particularly thank His Excellency President Mahama, the government and people of Ghana for all that was done to console us and for joining us to ensure a fitting final journey for Komla.

“Komla's passing has left a void in our hearts, but we find consolation in the Lord, the Giver of Life. May his soul Rest in Peace.” says Professor Ernest Dumor, Komla's father.

Komla Afeke Dumor, who passed away suddenly on 18th January 2014 in London, was the son of Professor Ernest Dumor, the first Chief Executive Officer of the National Identification Authority (NIA) and a former member of the Electoral Commission of Ghana and Professor of the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana.

Komla, who is a native of Aflao in the Volta Region of Ghana, was a well-respected international broadcast journalist. He previously hosted the Super Morning Show on Joy FM in Ghana for almost a decade before going to the BBC in 2007.

He was buried on the 22nd February, 2014.

Komla is survived by his wife Kwansema and three children; Elinam, Elorm and Emefa Dumor. He was the brother of Mrs. Mawuena Trebarh, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), and Dr. Korshie Dumor, a Medical Doctor currently practicing in the USA.
