First Digital TV To Launch December 12, 2013
25.11.2013 LISTEN

It's all set for the official launch of First Digital TV. This will include the outdooring of the Five (5) channels (out of a total of 30 channels) that will define First Digital as the next big thing in television broadcast in Ghana. First Digital's official launch will happen on December 12th, 2013.

The inaugural ceremony will held at the premises of First Digital at Abelenkpe (former SKYY Digital TV) in Accra,

First Digital is a multi-media company with a nationwide Digital TV Multiplexer Authorisation in Ghana and is a product of Wilsad Support Limited (WSL), powered by investment from Ghana Growth Fund Company (GGFC).

Earlier this year, Wilsad Support Limited (WSL) entered into an agreement with GGFC to develop and expand its pioneering digital TV Infrastructure and Services nationwide with an anticipation that the expanded project would go beyond the borders of Ghana to neighbouring West African Countries.

With the GGFC support, WSL is upgrading to DVB-T2 standard in line with the National Communication Authority preferred standard before end of the year by acquiring enhanced T2 Receivers to enjoy more TV Channels and FM Audio Channels.

At the start of the collaboration, Mr. Wilson Arthur, Managing Director of WSL, said the new enhanced service would be rebranded as First Digital (in recognition of its pioneering role in digital TV in Ghana) and to match the new superior quality TV Service it would be serving in few weeks from now.

The new investment is enhancing the capacity of WSL to provide Multiplexer Services to strategic Local and International Television and Radio Content Companies to deliver a bouquet of Media Service unparalleled in Ghana. "We will truly become 'First' in Ghana." said Mr. Arthur.

The dividends of the heavy investment in First Digital are now quite evident in the quality of content the channels to be outdoored on 12th December will deliver.

Wilson Arthur,
(Managing Director, WSL)
