Women turn on style at Larteh Odwira

The grand durbar to round off this year's Odwira festival at Larteh Akuapim in the Eastern Region was an extremely colourful  affair.

MTN  sponsored  the festival as part of its Culturefest 2013 programme and citizens from the town as well as the many guests turned out in elegance at the durbar  ground. The women, both royalty and ordinary folks,  looked their best for the festive event.

Activities undertaken during the  festival included  a clean-up exercise; inter-school quiz for junior high schools; a community health walk and health screening and a fun day of poetry, indoor games and  music for young people.

Others were community  football gala;  durbar and street carnival  and a non-denominational thanksgiving service.

As part of its sponsorship package for the festival, MTN donated Gh¢3,000.00 to the Larteh Traditional  Council.  The telecoms company also gave MTN airtime, a drink hamper and an assortment of  MTN souvenirs.

The theme for the festival  was 'Education For The Youth.'
