Chief Executive Officer, Point Blank Media Concepts, Mr. Theophilous Akatugba, has urged television stations in the country to make good use of their licenses and place values on them as they seek to perform well by promoting Ghanaian movies to wipe out the eyes of white men faces off our screens.

He said showing of foreign movies in the local television station has become rampant in the society with same meaning as far as love, kiss and romance play vital roles in these movies telecast. Adding that 65% of white men's movies are shown most in the local television.

He mentioned that funding was the biggest challenge for most movie producers and lack of inadequate facility to serve the industry well.

Theophilus Akatugba threw this challenge at the press launch of Point Blank Media Concept's TV production dubbed TV Triangle which comprises of great series like Super Broadway, Tentacles 2 and the Ultimate Stories.

He said point blank is the leading TV program, film production and distribution company in the West African Sub-region which cuts across the continent of Africa and beyond.

Theo Akatugba revealed that over the years the program have been viewed across the African continent in more than 25 TV stations as well as in Europe, where distribution speculate to more than 170hours for both local and foreign programs of various descriptions.

Theo further mentioned that that apart from TV, they mostly involved broadcasting, events and general entertainment with the achievement of local productions which started since 2003.

He was glad that starting with tentacles in those days was very wonderful and a challenging one.

'However the kind of professionalism that went into the production of tentacles made it possible to set the pace for other producers to excel and this achievement has gradually led to the development of today's Ghanaian movie industry,' Theophilus Akatugba pointed out.

He said their ambition is to expand into a full time broadcasting outfit with ownership of thematic channels which will broadcast across Africa and gradually go global.

Some actors and actresses who were present to grace the launch included Emmanuel Armah, Ekow Blankson, Vivenne Achor, Doris Sackitey and many others.
