Vlisco outdoors 5 inspirational women to be honoured

Five inspiring women have been selected and outdoored by fabric powerhouse, Vlisco as part of activities to mark Vlisco Women's Month Be Your Dream award.

The company recognizes the world's International Women's Day on March 8 but said women deserve more than a day to celebrate their immense achievements and contributions to society.

The Vlisco Women's Month Be Your Dream award will therefore continue to celebrate women throughout West and Central Africa for a whole month.

The five Ghanaian nominees selected for the award were outdoored at a brief but impressive ceremony at the Vlisco Shop at the Accra Mall last week.

The five are: Abena Amoah, Investment Banker and the Founder & CEO of Baobab Advisors; Shirley Frimpong-Manso, CEO of Sparrow Productions; Constance Elizabeth Swaniker, CEO of Accents & Arts; Mawuena Trebarh, Founding Director & Chief Business Strategist of Inspire Africa Consult Ltd; and Ellen Hagan, multi award winning CEO of L'Aine Service Ltd.

The general public will vote for any of the five women who inspires them the most. By voting, they also stand the chance to be win prizes including VIP tickets to the Be Your Dream award night and tailor-made Vlisco dresses. Voting can be done at www.beyourdream.vlisco.com or by sending the first letter of a nominee's name to 1751.

Creative and imaginative female fashion professionals including tailors, designers, and stylists also have the opportunity to send their business plans to the Vlisco Fashion Dream Fund to win funding to realize their dreams.

Three winners throughout West and Central Africa will respectively win US$10,000, US$7,000 or US$5,000 to enable them to make their dreams come true.
