Koforidua-based hip life music group A-Qube has expressed high hopes of excelling in Accra and possibly taking over the music scene.

The group, made up of Ofosu Maxwell, Ackom Dickson and Agyekum Isaac, has been around for about six years and maintained a successful career in Koforidua and its environs.

The members started as solo artistes while they were in school. Subsequently, one of their teachers advised them to form a group because unity is strength. They did and named the group, AB4.

But the group changed its name to A-Qube in 2006 when it released its first single titled, 'Oga Police'.

'Oga Police' was a song that revisited the issue of bribery between police and drivers. The song was a hit in Koforidua and some parts of the Eastern Region.

After that release, the group relaxed for a while and bounced back in 2010 with the song, 'Kyeneo By Force', which encouraged young men to be bold enough to approach ladies.

Currently, they are out with 'Yenyenosaa', featuring DS who is also the group's manager.

After operating in Koforidua and its environs, the group is now targeting Accra.

'We think it is good to establish ourselves in the region where we come from and we have done that successfully. We are now ready to conquer Accra,' the group said in exclusive interview with BEATWAVES. It stated that hopefully, its maiden album would be released in June this year.
