YFM Receives Highest Nominations In Accra Night Life Awards

7th February, 2013: Y 107.9 FM, the radio station for the young and the young at heart, has received five nominations in the maiden edition of the Rlg Accra Night Life Awards.

Out of the 22 categories, Y FM is leading with the highest number of nominations. YFM's DJ Champaign and DJ Killer Fingers have both been nominated in the best event DJ category, YFM's loud in GH has been nominated for the Best Concert Category, whiles Caroline and Joel have received nominations for Best MC and Best Club MC categories respectively.

The Rlg Accra Night life awards, organized by Edge Media group in collaboration with rLG and the Ministry of tourism, seeks to recognize and celebrate creators and contributors to a vibrant nightlife in Accra. The awards night is scheduled for Saturday, 16 February at the Trade Fair Center.

'It is satisfying when people recognize the good work you do. This is not the very first time Y FM and its presenters have been nominated in for awards. Over the years, the station and its presenters have been nominated and have received several prestigious accolades in different awards ceremonies.

Y FM's nominations in this maiden edition of Accra Night Life Awards is overwhelming, because looking at all 22 categories, Y FM is the one with the highest nominations. Our DJs, presenters, and events are duly recognized in some of the best categories. We hope to win all the five categories', said Mr. Eric Twum, station Manager of Y FM.

In October 2012, the station managed to pick 3 awards in three different categories in the Globa Radio and TV Personality awards. Jeremie, presenter of Y Lounge, was adjudged the Radio Female Presenter of the year, Sammy Forson, presenter of Y FM's Myd Morning Show won the Best Myd Morning Show Host of the Year award, and DJ Champaign received Radio DJ of the Year award. The station is hopeful to win big again on February 16th at the Trade Fair Center.
