Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown has emphasised that she is in a relationship with Maxwell Mensah who was behind the wheels when they had a motor accident a week ago.

'Today, Wednesday, February 6, 2013, is exactly a week since affable actress Nana Ama had a brutal motor accident which almost claimed her life.

The actress is presently responding very fast to treatment and wishes to express her gratitude for getting back her precious life after such an ill-fated experience,' a statement issued by her publicist, Eugene Osafo-Nkansah said.

'She also used the opportunity to put on record that it is true Maxwell is indeed her boyfriend and this incident has even made the love between them stronger and nothing at all can separate them,' he added.

The talented actress, who has not been able to tell her side of the incident due to intensive medical attention, yesterday morning, for the first time, gave hints of her experience and shared a few pictures of her present condition in the hospital through Mr Osafo-Nkansah.

'I pray and everybody should pray to God never to experience what I have gone through for the past one week. I do not wish this for any human being,' she told Eugene.

Nana Ama first debunked reports that she was in the car with about three other people, apart from her boyfriend, insisting, 'I was in the front seat while Maxwell was behind the steering. There was nobody else in the car.'

According to Eugene, Nana Ama, who was full of smiles, reassured her fans and loved ones that she was very fine and would be back on her feet very soon.

Nana Ama stated, 'I can never stop thanking Almighty God for saving our lives. It's a miracle we are still alive.

I thank all who spend time praying for me, all my friends, colleagues, family members who have spent time to visit me here. I want to tell everybody who is worried about me that I'm safe and out of danger now'.

The actress said after her recovery, there would be a brand new Nana Ama McBrown with a lot of surprises. The accident happened last Wednesday morning at about 2am on the Abeka Lapaz stretch of the N1 Highway in Accra.

Nana Ama and her boyfriend, Maxwell Mensah, driving a black four-wheel-drive Range Rover with a temporary licence plate number DV8460, were heading from Osu towards their residence in Mallam.

On approaching the Lapaz traffic lights which were then blinking amber, another vehicle, an Opel Vectra with registration number GR 9922- R, approached from the left side and rammed into the Range Rover.

They were rushed to the 37 Military Hospital.
Police identified driver of the Opel Vectra as John Kofi Dogbevi, owner of a popular chop bar 'Berima Nkwan', located at Lapaz.
