Hugh Masakela, South African jazz legend will perform live at the second edition of the Kasapreko African Legends Night on Saturday, September 22, at the State House.
The night would witness historic performances from Hugh Masekela and some selected renowned Ghanaian artistes such as king of burger highlife Ben Brako, saxophonist Steve Bedi, Lady May from Namibia, and Bertha.
Masakela, who promised a memorable night with his much loved classics as well as some new releases from his current collections, was expected to perform most of his favourite hit songs during his three-hour performance on stage.
Last year, Masakela captured the hearts of Ghanaians with his astounding performance and stagecraft.
Masakela was one of those extraordinary African artistes who have developed their creative talents to meet the demand of music lovers in Africa, Europe and other parts of the world.
As one of the musicians, who could confidently boast to have shaped music on the continent and even globally, Masakela would stand shoulder high. But he was not the kind who was wont to boast; at least, he chose to let his musical performances rather do the talking for him.
That was why at an unbelievable age of 73 and after more than a half-century of doing music, Masakela still travelled the world, showing why Marvin Gaye, Harry Belafonte and Fela Kuti treated his talent with reverence.
Last year's edition of the Kasapreko African Legends Night saw an overwhelming patronage and innumerable pleas for an encore show.
Hugh has inspired millions around the world with his powerful music. Tonight, Ghanaians would be treated to the best of this living legend.
