
Hip Life artiste Edem will be the centre of attention when he unleashes his stage craft as 10 beautiful and intelligent women battle it out among themselves for the bragging right as the first ever humanitarian queen.
Launched recently in Accra, the humanitarian pageant is set to climax on August 18, 2012, at the National Theatre in a night of pageantry, music and fashion with performances by the 'Over Again' singer, R n B crooner Chemphe, among others.
Battling it out for the coveted title of 'Miss Humanity Ghana 2012' were Beatrice Eno Yeboah (Alliance Francais) , Svetlana Danso (AUCC), Helen Anyewedja Ayerkie (Data Link), Marian Nanorki Darlington (KNUST), Comfort Doe (University of Ghana), Josephine Bediako Oppong ( University of Ghana), Pearl Justine Adzoma (Regent University), Serwaa, Mishasha Essien (Marketing Student) and Louisa Ankowah Antwi (Central University)
According to the C.E.O of Xclusive Productions Ghana Limited, Adjei Annang, the event was a collaboration of the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs, SFC International, of Barbados, among others with the goal of promoting and raising awareness about humanitarian issues worldwide.
The winners of the pageant engaged in issues relating to child labour, HIV/AIDS discrimination, domestic abuse, hunger and gender exploitation.
The winner of Miss Humanity International Ghana, 2012, would represent Ghana at the world finals in Barbados in October 2012, get an official duty car for a year, a modelling contract for a year in Nigeria, Hong Kong, beauty products among other sponsor goodies and work on humanitarian issues as the national title holder.
