MTN Hit Maker: 12 contestants sweating it out in the studio

The organizers of the MTN Hit Maker music talent contest are looking to unearth great hit tracks as the 12 contestants continue to work on their songs in various studios in Accra and Tema, the three judges for the competition say they are beginning to get a fair idea of who the potential hit makers are.

The judges are Bessa Simmons, Zapp Malett and Ofie Ofuatey Kodjoe. Their expert views and voting from the public will determine whether Chiki, Aku, Atimbila, Ben, Cecil, Jackie, Kojo ,Lotee, Anita, Miriam, Material and P.E can annex the first prize worth Ghc100,000.

A few of them have already have had reality show experience in programmes such as Stars of the Future, Project Fame, Boogie Down, Bands Alive, and Icons Mixed Edition but Bessa Simmons says that does not necessarily give any advantage to those concerned. He stated that: “ MTN Hit Maker is only about originality and everyone is getting same opportunities to shine.

Whoever displays real hunger for success and goes the extra mile to achieve it will definitely make an impact Bessa says. “I have listened carefully to the things they are doing and each of them is a potential Hit Maker”.
