
MUSIGA is holding a Greater Accra regional forum to discuss issues of interest to musicians on Thursday, June 7. The forum will be followed by regional elections.
This is part of a nationwide tour the leadership of MUSIGA has embarked upon to undertake artiste development symposia and interact with musicians nationwide.
Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obuor, president of MUSIGA, said the nationwide tour was one way of finding out first hand, the issues of concern to musicians.
The Greater Accra forum, which climaxes the tour, will feature a line up of speakers who will discuss topics like the State of Copyright in Ghana, Delivering World Class Performances, The Role of MUSIGA as a Union and Handling Contracts.
Speakers scheduled for the day include Rex Omar, Carlos Sakyi, Bessa Simons and lawyer Cynthia Dwomoh.
The Greater Accra regional election has the likes of Tic Tac contesting against Ernest Kwesi, the incumbent, for the chairmanship. Other positions include secretary, which ex-Tic Tac manager Georgina Bimpong has indicated she would contest, treasurer, organizer and vice chairman positions.
By Thursday May 31, the MUSIGA regional tour had visited eight regions and would be in Koforidua on Friday, June 1.
Meanwhile, as part of the MTN Hitmakers Reality show, the MUSIGA leadership has been collecting demo tapes from aspiring musicians who would like to be part of the show.
The MTN Hitmakers Reality Show offers the winner a ¢100,000.00 prize package.
