They want to be the first to see these films - we are able to do that, wherever they are in the world. We want to carry on bringing the newest films to our viewers and this new service is a way that the Nollywood industry can benefit too.'
iROKOtv is Africa's first legal online source of Nollywood films and has over one million viewers in 178 countries across the African Diaspora. Its largest markets include the US, UK, Germany, Italy and Canada, where viewers will no longer have to wait for their favourite films. Thanks to iROKOtv's latest service, viewers will be able to enjoy new and exclusive films in HD quality at www.irokotv.com.
iROKOtv is part of iROKO Partners, founded by Jason Njoku in December 2010, Africa's largest online distributor of Nollywood filmed entertainment and music. iROKO works directly with Nollywood production houses to buy the online licences to Nollywood films, paying higher prices for content. This enables filmmakers to monetize their content optimally and to reinvest back into the industry, which can, in turn, make more and better quality films.
Viewers of iROKOtv can sign up or login through Facebook, simply and securely, to watch the thousands of free films available. Subscribers pay just $5 a month either by SMS, PayPal or card for access to brand new films.
