The much-awaited lovers' night concert with highlife singer Akwasi Opoku, a.k.a Kwaisey Pee finally came off as scheduled on Saturday February 18 at the National Theatre.
The concert which was initially designed as a pre-Valentine event, was rescheduled to last Saturday.
As promised, the concert lived up to its billing with exciting performances from the impressive list of performers for the show.
The show kicked off with great performances from two of highlife's finest singers Nana Fynn and Nana Tuffour before MC for the night, rapper turned comedian A –plus took over the stage.
Though the show was billed as a music show with a love theme, Ghana's funniest young talent Funny Face, himself a comedian turned musician was on hand to tickle patrons with his superb jokes.
When the dynamic afro neo-soul singer Efya mounted the stage, she opened her act with a tribute to the late pop diva Whitney Houston who was laid to rest hours before her performance.
Efya delivered a heartfelt rendition of Whitney Houston's iconic song 'I Will Always Love You' which she did magnificently to the admiration of the crowd before delving into her repertoire of songs.
KK Fosu and D Flex also thrilled patrons with their hit love songs which saw them dancing throughout.
As the wore on, the musical heat kept rising in the main auditorium of the National Theatre as every artiste who took the stage brought fire and got the patrons doing something new.
Kwabena Kwabena who's well noted for pleasing his fans all the time did not disappoint with his performance set which warmed the stage for Kwaisey Pee.
Kwaisey Pee entertained his fans with some of his hit songs such as 'KroKro Me', 'Emrika Boni', 'Me Hia Odo', 'Otwere Ma Me', 'Obaapa Ho Ena' amongst others.
Patrons were give a surprise treat from lead sponsor Vitamilk who gave away free drinks from their product range.
Legendary musician and father of the songwriter Akoboa who is suffering from Glaucoma was honoured at the concert with a check to help him undergo surgery.
The Vitamilk love concert with Kwaisey Pee was meant to kick start his 5th album tour across the nation which will see him make stopovers at 7 districts.
