Sensational fetish priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam recently returned from The Netherlands with a luggage of idols and deities which were taken from Africa several years ago. NEWS-ONE had an exclusive with the fetish priest on how he came by the idols as well as how come he now keeps dreadlocks. The interview also touched on his plans for 2012 and his London-based sexy wife.

NEWS-ONE : What took you outside Ghana?
BONSAM: I went to Amsterdam as a follow up visit to work for a client and then to France and I also visited London.  But I also met a lot of people who had come from Surinam and India to meet me. Most of them call me 'Spiritual Father'

NEWS-ONE : But you have returned with a luggage of idols.

BONSAM: Oh yes. While in Amsterdam, my client informed me of a very old man who stays in France. The old man is partly French but has roots in Amsterdam. He said this old man had heard of me and wanted to see me for something important so we travelled to France to meet him.

His issue was simple. He said his grandparents once visited Africa and they returned with some deities  which he wanted to hand over to me to take back to Africa because he did not know how to worship them or what to do with them especially as he was now an old man and would soon be leaving for the Old People's Home.

I agreed to return the gods back to Africa because no bird dies and leaves its feathers in the air. I poured libation and performed some rituals. A lot of drama unfolded but eventually, we landed with the gods.

NEWS-ONE : What would you do with the gods?
BONSAM: I would wait for the Akwasidai festival and decide what to do. I may build a small museum for them but it all depends on the Akwasidai festival.

NEWS-ONE : How long did you spend outside?
BONSAM: A little over three months but less than four months.

NEWS-ONE : Is that why very little has been heard from you in recent times?

BONSAM: Not exactly. Even before I travelled, I decided to remain on the quite because the noise was bringing me down. I have realised most of the people who come to me do not want the noise and the fact that I am always in the media. Most people would prefer to do juju in private so I stopped the noise. Moreover, I am still maturing and learning new things by the day. The more I learn, the more sober I become.

NEWS-ONE : How is your new wife?
BONSAM: You must be talking about Trudy. That was why I went to London. We had some good time and she really showed me love. She would be in Ghana by April or so. We went touring London and people were wondering how I got such a beautiful lady for a wife but the gods are not to be blamed. Just wait and you may see a London baby for me soon.

NEWS-ONE : What are your plans for 2012?
BONSAM: As I told you, I want to lay low and work on the blind side of the media. I do not want a lot of attention. My works would be centred around protection and prosperity for my clients. I have realised that the world is full of evil so we must all protect ourselves. Secondly, poverty pushes people into all sorts of situations, embarrassment and shame so I would be working for the prosperity and protection of those who come to me.

Ghanaians are peace loving people and if a Ghanaian is prosperous and has protection, he would not be bothered about any other thing.

NEWS-ONE : Are you now a Rastafarian?
BONSAM: No. My dreadlocks is not intentional. I have never liked dreads but I was performing a ritual that did not allow me to cut my hair. Just when the ritual ended, it was time for me to travel and I do not cut my hair and leave it in a foreign land so I had to keep it. That is what has resulted in this dreadlocks. But it has happened already and I have not decided what to do with it yet. I would wait for what the gods would decide during the Akwasidae.

NEWS-ONE : Thanks for the interview Nana
BONSAM: Thank you too and don't be coming to me only for interviews. I've always told you to come for blessings and prayers.
