The prestigious Ghana Movie Awards to honour stakeholders in Ghana's movie industry is here again and was launched on Wednesday morning at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra to start the search for deserving talents in the movie industry.

Gollywood Productions, organizers of the awards christened MAG Awards, has hence opened entry for Ghanaian filmmakers to submit their works for consideration.

The second edition of the awards is scheduled for December 25, 2011 and will be televised to millions of viewers across Africa and beyond. Nominations will be announced in November 2011 with an anticipated huge party at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi.

Deadline for all submissions is in October 2011 and submission forms can be downloaded from the Ghanamovieawards.com or handpicked at Gollywood productions offices opposite Cottage Annex, adjacent Metro TV.

Each completed entry form must be accompanied by all the supporting materials listed on the submission forms- the synopsis of the film, producers, 2 DVD copies of the 120 minutes film, proof of the right to submit, etc.

Also, submitted films must be movies released from the editing bench of production houses within the period October 2010 and October 2011 and not necessarily movies that were released on the movie market in the year under review. Hence all films must indicate year of copyright.

The launching ceremony on Wednesday brought together a number of stakeholders including actors, producers, directors and crew members as well as the inky fraternity and Government officials.

Visible among them were David Dontoh, Majid Michel, Van Vicker, Nadia Buari, Augustine Abbey, Socrates Sarfo, Nana Ama McBrown, Mr. Beautiful, Juliet Ibrahim, Emelia Brobbey, Rose Mensah aka Kyeiwaa, Fred Nuamah, executive producer of the awards and the crème de la crème of the industry.

In all, over 30 awards will be given in various categories including Best Actor and Actress In Lead Roles.

Ghana Movie Awards Committee headed by ace actor David Dontoh has added three more categories namely Best Cameo, Best Actor and Best Actress TV Series and finally Best Picture TV Series.
