It was a perfect escape from a stressful long week at work and all the hustle and bustle of the capital city of Ghana.

I am talking about last Friday's comedy show at the aviation social centre, put together by Ghana number's one entertainment radio station, Hitz 103.7FM, and Easy Planet, an event organizing company in Ghana.

The show, dubbed Laugher Express lived up to its billing as a night of pure rib-racking laughter and fun.

Up and coming Nigerian comedian Hogan, who was a side attraction for the night kick started the show with his superb and simple jokes, holding his own against other well known comedians like Ghana's own Nana Yaw Benson, popularly known as Funny Face, Ellenu the over fed elephant of the Federal Republic of Nigerian and Ajibade, also from Nigeria.

Ajibade's introduction on stage had the crowd bursting with laughter as he joked about three ladies who were boasting of what their boyfriends gave them on Val's day, with one of them unfortunately getting tuberculosis instead of the Black Berry phone that her other two colleagues got.

Elenu, who describes himself as the over-fed elephant of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, got onstage sounding so British in a moment and in a split second, reverted to speaking Nigerian pidgin English and you cannot imagine the extent of laughter released after wards.

He also prayed to God to end poverty in Africa recounting how, growing up, he had and his family had suffered in the hands of poverty to the extent that even an unfortunate mouse once sneaked into their house and for two weeks never got anything to eat and had to leave in misery.

Rounding off the night, Funny Face came on stage to a standing ovation from the audience. He thanked his fans for making him who he is today.

He then reechoed his usual saying: “Ekom a de yen a akye” slogan, meaning we have been hungry for far too long, taking us back to how he had suffered in the past as a result of poverty, just like his Nigeria compatriot had mention earlier.

Like it or not, Funny Face is gradually rising to super stardom in Ghanaian comedy with his rib-racking jokes.

Doctors do recommend a good joke a day but Funny Face and friends gave their audience an over-dose of rib cracking jokes, the end result, a little pain in the lungs, but that was all good, yes truly it was all good.

If you were not at the Aviation Social Centre, you did miss a lot of fun, but don't curse your stars yet; the organisors say, this is one in the series of many great comedy shows to come your way. Amen!!!

So please keep your ears on the ground for the next episode, and if it does come, you really have no excuse not to be there, and don't say you did not know about it because I just informed you.

Maybe its about time you started listening to Hitz 103.7 FM, there is so much entertainment going on there that you did not know about.
