COME DECEMBER 4, patrons of Ghanaian high life music will once again witness another historic musical concert dubbed Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO), at the National Theatre in Accra.

The MOGO concert is being organized by Accra-based radio station, Citi FM. This is the fifth edition of the event. Past events have featured Ghanaian music legends Osibisa, Paulina Oduro, Daddy Lumba, Nana Acheampong, Agya Koo Nimo, among others.

This year's event, which is expected to be the biggest yet, will witness live performances from the Ramblers International Band, Bessa Simons, Lee Duodo, , Ben Brako and Jewel Ackah.

They will rock the evening with great hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

According to the management of Citi FM, the MOGO concept is a celebration of the various music forms of Ghana.

“This is Citi FM's own way of helping Ghanaians release stress, to realize that there are other things that bind us together as Ghanaians, like our beautiful music”, a source at Citi FM told BEATWAVES.

As many artistes and music producers interviewed have confirmed, the sounds of the guitars and drums that characterize high life music have often formed the base of most recently released songs in the country.

Described as the life source of high life music in Ghana, the 'Music Of Ghanaian Origin' (MOGO) concert, an annual event organized on Farmer's Day, is a renaissance of Ghanaian musical heritage and seeks to track Ghanaian music in transition.

The event is being sponsored by Coca Cola, with Net 2, Oman Fm, Business and Financial Time, Jive, DAILY GUIDE, Heritage, Happy FM, Fylla as media partners.
