B&D ready for album launch in Toronto

One of the biggest breakthrough gospel groups of 2009, B&D are set for the launch of their much talked about album, 'Who Go Fit Challenge God?' in Toronto Canada. The album launch will take place at Christ Redeemer on October 31.

The duo of cousins, Beatrice Amoateng Akin and Doris Handt Banahene, has already chalked a string of hits from their album in Ghana, including 'Me Yi Na Ye', 'Mekwanda Nyinaa', and 'Winner Remix'. The new 10-track album was fully produced by ace sound engineer, Nana Kwaku Osei (Nacy) at his My Life Studios in Accra.

In addition to the three hit songs, the album can also boast of amazing compositions and rhythms on tracks such as “Ebe Ye Yie”. This is a mid-tempo expression of the awesome power of God, with simple but yet assuring lyrics that God will improve your situation, no matter how difficult it may be. The cut which also features vocals from Nacy would certainly lift you up when you are down.

The high-to-mid tempo swing continues through out the album on tracks like 'Mesom Nyame', 'Hwan Mpo Na', 'Agya Nyame' and the title track, 'Who Go Fit Challenge God?' Keeping to the pidgin theme of the song, the title track spots a Nigerian modulation with a well infused instrumentation of strings and drums. Its strength lies in the beats and easy-to-sing-along lyrics in English, Twi and Ewe.

The album can also be used for sober reflections with two slow worship songs. “Bediako Mu Osahene" continues to explore the awesomeness of God's power and gives praise and thanks for his abundance. In a similar fashion, 'Wo Fata' is a deserving thanksgiving song to God.

The album launch is expected to be one of the biggest in Toronto, where Beatrice resides with her children and husband/ Executive Producer of the album, Vincent Akin. Doris also lives in Germany with her family. The launch is supported by the Ghanaian-Canadian Music Association in Toronto and would have guest performances from the likes of Evangelist Diana Asamoah, 'The Gospel Queen'.
