The Linda Ikeji That I Know By Adoyi Ali

19.09.2014 LISTEN
By ali adoyi

I had to quickly put this down considering my busy schedule. Definitely, it's not only Linda Ikeji who does all impressive media works in Nigeria. l'm also a very busy dude. Of course, I'm one of those great guys whose works cannot easily be undermined in the social media. I'm not bragging; Lol… only that I'm still driving one small Camry, and keeping faith that very soon, I will be like Linda. At least, I try small nah… Are you doubting me? Google my name nah… ):

Enough of this trumpet blowing jor...let's talk serious matter on a day we all have to celebrate the queen of African blogging, Linda Ikeji.

The zealous Linda

I had known Linda years before I started sending stuff to her as a writer. Even though ,we have never met one on one, her unresisting personality shines and speaks volume of who she is. It may sound like one is over patronizing her, but truth must be told. One thing I hate doing is 'washing'. I'm not a praise singer. I tell people the truth about themselves. Yeah, the Linda that I know is truth that must be told to young women of this generation.

Her 'zeal' is a teacher waiting to inspire any young lady who does not want easy money. Her 'zest' is an instructor waiting to direct girls who believe in the reality of making it the hard way. The Linda that I know is hard work personified. This soft article is to simply state the obvious, so I'm not adding salt and pepper. Afterall ,she no dey pay me sef. I'm just saying what I feel, so don't get it twisted.

The beautiful Linda

The Linda that I know is that woman who is aesthetically not lacking. While she keeps her blog busy and beautiful, she does not forget that she is a lady, and at any time she throws one or two of her photos at us, we see a fulfilled beautiful lady, displaying an amazing smile capable of healing the wounds of depressed African young ladies who may think that it's over with them.

Additionally, the confidence expressed in her dress sense as well as her appearance adds light to her eyes, gives a spring to her psychedelic walk (in guess) and adds value to her sense of well-being. Her dresses are mostly inspiring, moderately sexy and as well communicating volume about a lady who is mature at heart( that black dress na final) Her beauty even radiates in her voice, and most times when she speaks with me over the phone, her alluring voice makes me to understand with her even when I would have ordinarily be angry over delay in one or two of my posts. The unassuming Linda's voice is mostly reassuring. I'm married, so don't think there is a motive…):

The therapeutical Linda

Linda's smile is therapeutical, to say the least. And I will tell you why….Shortly after her beautiful article on her recent achievement where she got herself a 2014 range, I got calls from young ladies who are somewhat close to me, expressing how they feel about life and how her success stories have continued to inspire them. I pray she continues to smile, as many angry and dejected faces are now hopeful that one day, they will smile Linda's smiles. Her posts about her achievements, though gives me the impression that she is amazingly transparent, equally tells me that she cares for her fellow ladies, and would want many of them to dream their dreams.

Just like my boss, AreaFada would say '' Don't let anyone kill your dreams,'' so does Linda in her very sensitive and kind nature. She has revived many drowning young girls, especially those of them hanging around Legislative Quarters and Zone 4 in Abuja. These are girls being constantly harassed by the FCT administration without any corresponding effort towards rehabilitation. The soldiers and the authorities that harass them are not in any way living up to their responsibility.

These people, Linda has touched indirectly in her blog as I got a couple of calls from them over her last post on her achievement. Don't ask how I got so close to these ladies. I have been so sensitive to their plights and have advocated for their proper rehabilitation instead of continuous harassment by the FCT administration. Most of these girls have really being inspired by Linda, and I know a few of them who have resolved to start something on their own. Thank you Linda. I want to see more of those posts, maybe when you complete your house project.

Not just a blogger

Linda is not only a blogger, but a young woman who wants to make others smile. That, I believe is one of her strongest points. In all her blog activities, great concern for her ardent readers is often very visible as she gives back to them through some sort of Give Away competition. How many bloggers or news sites can give even little out of the much they make. The altruistic Linda beats me to that. Don't say she has made so much money to throw around as no amount is enough. It takes a large heart to think of giving back to the streets. She does not only display her little wealth on her blog to make us salivate, but to sensitize young people that they have got hope so long as they have got hands and brain to work. It goes further to express her appreciation to her readers who have actually made her who she is today, just to say una weldoneooo. Linda is obviously more than a blogger.

Daddy's queen

Many young ladies at Linda's age hardly ever discuss personal or private issues with their daddies. Linda has in her last article where she cleared that she sort her father's permission before acquiring her latest toy emphasised on the need to always give honour to whom honour is due. She is typically cultured and represents that African lady whose life is inexplicably linked to her root. Her moderate fame and money, notwithstanding, she continues to listen to the natural procedures of doing things, adhering also to God's commandment, thus; '' respect your father and your mother, and your days shall be long'' . The days of her success stories will definitely be long as it appears she values her root. I also see this as a strong message to many young ladies in Africa./Nigeria and the world over.

I want to be Linda

I want to seek Linda's permission to become Linda. Who says it's not possible, or won't Linda grant me the permission? Do I even need her permission? I can be Linda if I want, even if I'm a man. After all, boss-Charlyboy is also Linda. I sure can be Linda if I become consistent, focused and dogged in all that I do. Yeah! You can be Linda…):

I celebrate you Linda. Happy birthday.
