Information available at the desk of Nollywoodgists.com shows that popular gospel artiste, Tope Alabi is in a 153million Naira lawsuit mess.

According to some privileged documents reliably retrieved by us, one Alhaji Tajudeen Bioku, who is the Chairman/CEO of NPC Records Audioworks Ltd, is dragging Pastor (Mrs.) Abiodun Ibitola of Remdel Optimum Communication and Evangelist Tope Alabi of Tope Alabi Gospel Vibes to the court.

We gathered that the Alhaji Bioku, who is a US-based media mogul, has instituted a 152.5million Naira civil suit against Mrs. Ibitola and her company, Remdel, at the Lagos State High Court with the Suit Number ID/1373/2011 under Justice I.O. Kasali.

Bioku constituted the case against Remdel for a breach of contract, conversion, and detinue over the master tape of the hit album, 'Angeli Mi' by Tope Alabi, which was released under Remdel.

He is also suing Remdel for its refusal to pay accrued royalties for over four years. The case was recently heard June 18, 2012 at the court, but was adjourned for mention till September 25, 2012.

According to counsel to Bioku, Barr. Bolaji Mustapha, "the suit is a just one without ambiguity. Yes, we have filed a civil suit against Abiodun Ibitola and Remdel Optimum Communications LTD, for gross breach of contract and damages.

"You see, when folks think they could eat their cake and also have it, I've got a news for them: Not in my backyard! Where I come from there is absolutely no room for unscrupulousness,'' he said.

Speaking further, Mustapha said, "my client is an American~based Media mogul, who had come home to his fatherland to engage in legitimate business opportunities, but unfortunately fell into a wrong hand.

"It is my civic duty, as a Nigerian and a legal luminary, to ensure that those abroad (like my client) who are willing and interested in investing in this country are not discouraged but encouraged.

"Hence, this suit was filed in order to protect the interest of my client and to encourage foreigners and Nigerians in the Diaspora that this country is still a virile place to invest in." Mustapha concluded.

Nollywoodgists.com could not get a representative of Remdel or Tope Alabi as at press time.

"Angeli Mi was an album released by Tope Alabi that was very successful.
