Canuk set to host the Nigerian olympics team andNollywood stars july 8th 2012

The 2012 Olympics is upon us and the brilliant Nigerian Athletes will be arriving in the UK on 4th of July. (CANUK) is proud to be organizing a dinner to welcome the athletes and their coaches, plus NOC officials on Sunday, the 8th of July 2012. This is part of the contribution to make the athletes feel at home and allow them to network with Nigerians and Fans of Nigerian in the United Kingdom under the umbrella of CANUK.

The event will be hosted by award winning Best African Actress 2011 fatima Jabbe and Charles A. Khiran Inspirational Speaker, Leadership Coach/Trainer/Consultant

In addition, over 50 Nollywood film actors and actress along with Nigerian International footballers will be joining us on the night, and the Minister of Sports have confirmed that he will be the Special Guest of Honour. Our own High Commissioner Dr Dalhattu Tafida will be the Chairman for the day.

We are inviting you as a top Nigerian and Fans of Nigerians leaving in the UK to be a part of this elite guests.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make Nigerians in the UK and their children proud of our dear country. It has been a difficult time for our country in terms of negative press and bad reputation from crooked Nigerians and events happening at home, but this is a sliver lining for us to celebrate each other.

We want to use this opportunity to forge support for our youths who are representing our great Nation in the Olympics and also use the event to raise funds to improve training and preparation of the next generation of athletes.

Part of the commitment of CANUK is to ensure our independence as a corporate body working with the Nigerian High Commission. In essence we will not go cap in hand to Government or High commission to beg for assistance for a project like this as we are capable as humble self respecting Nigerians in the UK to host our sports men as a gesture of love to a cause we believe in.

As this is a self funded project of the community as a support of solidarity for our sportsmen and women, the entry ticket for the event has been put at a subsidised rate of £40 pounds per head. We consider this a donation from you.
