Scandal, Big Reason For Nollywood Stars Not Marrying Each Other?
28.04.2012 LISTEN

For those who have been following the marriage trend in Nollywood, one cannot but wonder why colleagues in the industry do not marry each other.

I have tried to search my memory archive but can't get any recent one readily available to think of.

Sure, Nollywood is regarded as a scandalous industry but we still have the likes of Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha, Queen Nwokoye, Grace Amah and who else? I can really count with my fingers. Too bad.

I know in the banking industry and others industries, people marry each other even with the tough restrictions placed against such.

But I wonder why the film industry in Nigeria that doesn't have such restrictions has not produced any recent couple(s) who belong to the same industry.

I hear of actors dating actresses which ends on location. Is that the true worth of Nollywood actresses? As location or sex escapades?

Take a look at Hollywood, they marry each other (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie now getting married).

Do our actors go for other girls because they know of the wayward lives of these actresses? Or our actresses simply go for American/European based rich men because they believe our actors cannot take good care of them (material/moneywise)?

Can Nollywood again ever produce likes Olu Jacobs/Joke Silva? Nobert/Gloria Young?

What exactly do you think is responsible for this?
